A Young Faith: Growing in Community
by Brayden King
I was very young in my faith, if even a Christian, when I first considered applying at CBC. I prayed for a time, and felt that the Spirit was leading me here. It was one of the best decisions I could have made.

Having just come out of the COVID shutdowns at the time, I had the sense that I needed to be in a place where other Christians gathered in order to grow in my faith. Through my classes, I grew significantly in my knowledge of God from an intellectual standpoint. I was given opportunities to really dig into the Bible in ways I hadn’t experienced before. From the community, including teachers and other staff, I found fellowship and encouragement. When I needed prayer, I found friends I could turn to, and when I was struggling, there was always someone with a solid answer.
Now, as I prepare to serve in pastoral ministry after I complete my degree, CBC is equipping me with the foundation I need to be a biblically faithful and skilled preacher. I am learning the skills needed to reach people with the knowledge and truths of Scripture well.
I owe a big thank-you to those who are willing to fund the studies of the students here at CBC. I would have had to make some hard choices if I had not received the funding that I did. I’m thankful to CBC’s donors and to God for this gift and opportunity to continue my studies all the way through graduation, and whether you’re already a generous supporter of CBC or not, I encourage you to come check us out! Come see the work being done here; talk to students; find out how your gifts are impacting those who receive them. I’m sure you will find encouragement in this, just like I do!
