A Priceless Education

by Chloe Plett

I had never heard of CBC, or Abbotsford, before I found their website and started comparing it against my other post-secondary options. The day I received my acceptance letter in the mail, I remember feeling prompted by the Spirit to take this chance. It was really tough to move across the country and start attending a school where I knew no one, but everyone was so welcoming, and I quickly became curious about what we were learning.

Before coming to CBC, I believed in God and knew a lot about the Bible. But I didn’t know God personally. I didn’t have any idea what it might look like to have a relationship with the Almighty. This was one of the key lessons I learned during my first year in the QUEST program: God wants to know me and be known by me.

In my four years at CBC, I’ve been exposed to different spiritual disciplines, authors, forms of worship, and ways of connecting with God that have helped me to grow a much stronger, more mature, and more relational faith. On top of that, I’ve had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant and have gained the experience of teaching over ten 75-minute class blocks. Since my end goal is to be a teacher, these skills contribute directly toward my career goals.

There is no price tag I can put on my education at CBC that truly and wholly represents what I have been given. I could not have afforded to come to CBC, and to stay for four years, had I not been the recipient of the generosity of CBC’s donors. I am graduating debt-free, with no student loans, and that is such a gift.

So thank you. Thank you for investing in the next generation of ministry leaders, thank you for believing in the mission of CBC, thank you for giving generously and giving students like me the chance to flourish and become more of who God made us to be.

Your generosity will help more students like Chloe build a strong, Jesus-centered foundation for life and ministry. Would you partner with us? Together, we can shape a generation.
