Dining Services
Chef Randy and his dining services team are passionate about serving a variety of healthy, homemade food choices to all students, faculty, staff, and guests throughout the day. Located in the Student Centre, the Dining Hall is a great place to connect, meet with instructors, and refuel! The Dining Hall accepts cash, debit, MasterCard, VISA and the CBC Meal Card (student card). Please note that dishes, cutlery, and other kitchen supplies may not be taken out of the Dining Hall or the Clearwood Room.
Holy Grounds
Holy Grounds is CBC’s student-run café which is located in the basement lounge of the Student Centre. Run by Service Practicum students, the café is regularly open on Tuesday nights following Vespers, as well as weekday mornings. Keep an eye out throughout the year for updated hours posted around campus!
Meal Plan Options
Meal plans work like a debit card. Money is loaded onto your 1Card. At the dining till, just swipe your card to pay for your meal or snack, and your balance will decline. You can add more money to your meal plan at any point in the semester.
We expect all students to use the minimum meal plan amount on their student card. If a student requires a refund for a specific reason, they will need to submit their application to Student Development for consideration.
Junior 'Lite' Meal Plan
The Junior “Lite” plan is designed for Junior Housing students who are looking for maximum flexibility. If you run out of funds after the initial minimum meal plan, you can add additional money to your card at any point in the semester. Your total spending will depend on your individual appetite, your food/beverage choices, and on whether you stock your res cupboards with snacks from the grocery store.
Junior 'Regular' Meal Plan
The Junior “Regular” plan is our standard plan for Junior Housing students. If you run out of funds after the initial minimum meal plan, you can add additional money to your card at any point in the semester.
Sophomore Meal Plan
Sophomore Housing is designed for the mature student who is looking to gain more independence yet still participate in junior housing-style community. While you will have access to a kitchen in your residence for your own cooking, you will also have a minimum meal plan. This meal plan encourages Sophomore housing students to connect with the larger student community through the sharing of some meals in the dining room. Sophomore housing students may also choose the Junior (Lite or Regular) plan if they prefer.
Senior Meal Plan
This meal plan is designed for students living in Senior Housing who plan to cook their own meals and want to buy the occasional prepared meal or grab a coffee/snack on the way to class. Senior Housing students are encouraged to intentionally connect with the larger student community by eating in the dining room on a regular basis. Senior Housing students may also choose the Junior (Lite or Regular) or Sophomore meal plans if they prefer.
If you have any dietary allergens or restrictions, you contact or meet with the Chef to discuss your personal situation. He will identify your restriction and keep track of student allergies. Please note that the College is unable to accommodate lifestyle dietary choices and no meal plan exemption will be given for this.
