Academic Renewal at Columbia Bible College
Two years ago, Columbia Bible College began the process of evaluating each of our programs to ensure our students are equipped to serve the needs of the church and the community upon graduation. This refinement process has resulted in a series of substantial changes to both our core curriculum and to our academic programs.
Those changes are now being implemented. In some cases, this means new classes being taught by faculty. In others, this means refocused outcomes for courses and programs. At every level of what we do in the classroom at Columbia—from our one-year certificate programs to our four-year degrees—we seek to help students build a foundation for a life of discipleship, ministry and leadership.
"This is such a godly environment, with teachers that care for each of the students and help teach them about God’s truth. Overall, it’s an amazing community that allows you to grow closer to God and develop amazing Christian friendships."

New Church Ministry Program Launched
The Church matters! That’s the heartbeat of our new Church Ministry Program. Students discerning or preparing for a call to church ministry can now focus their studies in our Church Ministry Program with concentrations in Worship Arts and Youth Ministry.
New Program Advisory Groups Launched
Every academic program is now supported by a Program Advisory Group comprised of advocates and subject specialists from outside the college. Our goal is to make sure we connect with the needs of the church and community that our grads will serve within.
Accreditation Renewal Underway
Every ten years we go through an accreditation process with the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). This year-long process is designed to strengthen what we do, provide accountability to peer-reviewed quality standards and ensure that everything we do links to our mission and student outcomes.
“ God has used my professors and my courses to teach me and shape me by his Spirit. I’ve grown in my academic abilities (reading, writing, and comprehension) and I’ve grown in my relationship with Jesus. Overall, it’s been a wonderful season of life.”

Student Impact
Our greatest joy is to see evidence of mission fulfillment as our students encounter our faculty, classes and program:
“My time at CBC has changed my life for the better. The sense of community and belonging that I have experienced in my two years here has been outstanding, and I have deeply appreciated the amount of time, energy, and care poured into my life and spiritual formation by staff and faculty. I have become a more confident, more secure version of myself and have grown more deeply rooted in my values and beliefs. My classes have challenged me intellectually and encouraged me to think critically. I cannot say enough good things about how this institution has impacted my life. Anyone who wants to learn more about Jesus and be a part of the body of Christ in their college experience would be extremely lucky to go here.”

“CBC Academics are distinctive. It is a rare gift to be able to study the Bible, to test gifts and abilities, to grow in ministry and leadership capacity and to explore significant questions within a supportive community. It is even better to do this alongside faculty who care deeply about connecting their content to the life, faith and calling of their students. This is what energizes and motivates us at Columbia, and we are so grateful to have this part to play in what God is doing in the next generation of disciples, ministers and leaders.”
