Community & Christ-Centred Education

Janae Jefremow, 2025 Graduate of the Educational Assistant program
by Janae Jefremow
As a recent graduate of the Educational Assistant program at Columbia Bible College, there are so many aspects I loved and appreciated about my time at CBC. Here are a few:
Community & Relationships
I had the opportunity to live in dorms this past year and I was so thankful for the deep and meaningful relationships I developed with my roommates and peers. Being surrounded by Jesus-centred individuals was such a huge blessing and I will forever cherish the long-lasting friendships I made.
Jesus-Centred Education
I love the Christian viewpoints that the Educational Assistant program taught from. Not only did the program prepare us for a career with hands-on experiential learning, but it also taught and prepared us to live Jesus-centred lives in all we do. This is such a rarity and so needed in this day and age.
Approachable Faculty & Staff
The last thing I want to highlight is the amazing support from all the professors and staff. They truly showed me that they cared for me and where I wanted to go with my life. If you are looking for meaningful relationships and people that will invest in your life and help you grow in your walk with God, CBC is the place to find it.
A Note of Thanks
This next year I’ll be working full time at MEI middle school as an educational assistant. I’m super excited to share the love of Jesus with the students I’ll be working with, and use the skills that God has blessed me with to help those in need. I also plan to continue my schooling and become a teacher, which is something I’m super passionate about.
I wanted to say a big thank you to all the donors who have made it possible for me to have this life-changing and enriching opportunity. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. You are truly a blessing from God.
