Indiana Wesleyan University
Columbia & IWU provide a dual degree option
Columbia is proud to partner with Indiana Wesleyan University in the delivery of a dual degree program that combines a Columbia degree in Practical Theology with a variety of IWU’s online professional degrees.
IWU Partnership
Students can graduate with two degrees from two institutions without adding significant time or cost and without relocating. This option is ideal for students with an interest in bi-vocational ministry or who simply want to combine a Columbia degree with skills that will prepare them for the marketplace.
Enrolling in this dual degree option, students are able to earn two bachelor’s degrees – a ministry degree from Columbia and a professional credential from IWU.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply?
The first step is to apply to Columbia. Once a student at CBC, the Registrar’s office can assist you in applying for an IWU program.
How are the four years structured?
As students journey throughout their degree, the weight of CBC-to-IWU classes shift. During the first year at Columbia, students will take 100% Columbia classes. In year two, the ratio shifts to 75% Columbia classes and 25% IWU classes. Year three, there is a 50/50 split between the two schools. Finally, in year 4, students take 25% Columbia classes, and 75% IWU classes.
All IWU classes are delivered online – if you have questions about this program, send us a message!
Is Indiana Wesleyan Accredited?
Indiana Wesleyan University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. More information »
How are classes delivered?
All IWU classes are delivered online and are given in 6-week units (two units are delivered during one Columbia semester).
What are the admissions requirements for an associate and bachelor's student?
Students entering a bachelor’s degree must provide (a) proof of an earned high school diploma or GED equivalent; (b) transcripts from all previous regionally accredited colleges or universities, institutions accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education, or recognized nationally accredited institutions; and (c) 60 transferable credit hours from these prior institutions. Options are available to earn credit through an evaluation of prior experience. Columbia & IWU are homeschooler friendly and will work with parents and students to document completion of the high school requirement.
Can I start an IWU program halfway through my time at Columbia?
Yes! Current Columbia students are welcome to explore this dual program option. Years 1 and 2 are primarily Columbia classes, while in years 3 and 4, students take primarily IWU classes. This structure makes it easy for students to switch while already Columbia students.
All IWU classes are offered online – please connect with us if you have any questions.
